Welcome to Hartley Kids Books

Hello and Welcome!

I'm Jenna. I am an educator, a science researcher, a former teacher, an author, and, most importantly, a mom of three kids. I'm glad you're here and I can't wait for you to learn more about (and read!) my first children's book that I'm writing with my oldest son, Everett, and our friend, Torey Mishoe, who is working on the beautiful illustrations.

Latest news (12/30/2023):

Currently, we are sending query letters to agents and publishers in hopes of landing a traditional publishing deal for the first book that we're working on (so far, we're calling it THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD'S WORTH).

In the meantime, our friend Torey is working on some beautiful illustrations. If traditional publishing doesn't work out, we plan to try down the self-publishing road in July 2024.

Thank you for your support, especially of Everett, as he tries really hard things and puts himself out there in a tough industry to break into! He is certainly learning lots about perseverance and trusting his own voice, which has been powerful to witness. We'll keep you posted as we learn more!
